Why I have stones in my garden

Bridging Transitions; Live your life fully! Explore old & new wisdom and ideas around conscious living and conscious dying. Support, guidance and coaching.

Why do I have collections of stones thoughout my garden? What is it about the seeming permanence of stone that brings me comfort? Why do they help ground me?

For many years our family has brought back stones and shells from our vacations, walks on beaches, visits to friends and family. They find a place in our garden and serve as reminders of the beauty we have seen, the love we have felt and of the amazing source nature is to us. In the last few years I have added stones to remember some very special people I had the privilege of co-journeying with for a little while…I find a stone to represent them and tuck it away somewhere or add it to the many curated collections that are all around our garden. I love how the stones are part of our landscape…how they mingle with the growing flowers and tomatoes…how as all of life grows and dies around them with the seasons, they add stillness, permanence, a constant reminder of the dance that is life and death. They remind me to be conscious, to be grateful and to witness and honor.

Come talk and listen as we meet in community to discuss living, dying and all the messy parts in between. Some conversations that have come up in the past: how can death help us live fully? I keep thinking about what I could have done differently; what should I do about my grief? Come share a cup of tea and your story; listen and open up to new ideas; be in community.

Spring is here!

Hi everyone,

Spring is here! Renewal and rebirth are all around us. How are you renewing your life? What are you shedding that does not serve you anymore?

Whether we are young, old, or somewhere in between; vibrant, slowing down, or somewhere in between; healthy, aching, or somewhere in between; each day is a rebirth and a choice. What will it take to make today a good day?

Look for new growth opportunities within yourself. Use springtime as the catalyst for renewal.

Life is not the absence of death…
It is the inclusion of death into life that allows us to live consciously.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent workshops. The events brought together a lovely mix of people all open to exploring our beliefs and ideas around living, aging and dying…

We shared and learned together and gathered some nice insights and aha moments.

Starting in April I will be hosting a monthly community gathering and the seeds are planted for a 5 part series and a one day event… I will keep you posted and let you know when dates are set.

I was asked about facilitating dinners or get togethers for families or friends at private homes and I love the idea. So think about hosting an evening at your home to talk, explore and share in a group a topic chosen by you. It can be anything related to conscious living and dying, have some teaching or just be an open forum for all to share stories. Watching a movie followed by a conversation is another great way to spend an evening.
It is up to you! Think about a group you would like to have a conversation with, and we can shape the evening together.

Monthly Community Tea Talks

Hi everyone,

Please join me for our monthly Community Tea Talks on conscious living and conscious dying!

We all have stories related to death and dying but we don’t often talk about them…

Tea Talks are monthly community gatherings to talk about life, loss, aging, illness, death and dying. By sharing our experiences and stories in community we feel empowered, find fellowship and understanding. Some information and teachings may also be shared.

Why is it called Tea Talks?
Throughout my life hard conversations have been eased by a nice cup of tea and a little something yummy to go with it. Having hard conversations is easier when we create a warm, trusting and comfortable space and soothe our senses. Smell and taste are strong connectors and can help us feel at ease. Join us as we explore old and new ideas, around Living, Aging, Death and Dying. Find support and community, explore how you can support yourself and your loved ones in challenging times of life-transitions, experience personal growth, reduce fear and increase connection by focusing on the shared human experience.

Life is not the absence of death…
It is the inclusion of death into life that allows us to live consciously.

Here are some questions and conversations that have come up in the past…How can death help us live fully? How do I get over my fears? I keep thinking about what I could have done differently… My family does not want me to talk to dad about his cancer… Do we need to embalm if we want a viewing? Are there rules about mourning? Come share a cup of tea and add your voice or just come to listen.

As always, Thank you to everyone for participated in the recent workshops and to those who have trusted me to be a tiny part of their journey.

Let’s be open to exploring our beliefs and ideas around living, aging and dying…
